This private tour starts from Heraklion.

This is a short day tour that explores Lassithi Plateau.  Lassithi is a fertile piece of the Cretan land, surrounded by the majestic Dikti mountain range and punctuated by picturesque little villages and abandoned old windmills. We will visit the Monastery of Kera to admire its 13-century frescoes and then continue to visit Psychro village and the Dikteon Cave known as the legendary birthplace of Zeus. A 15-minute walk will be required to reach the cave, a geological phenomenon linked to mythological tales. We will continue our navigation to visit the typical village of Tzermiado, where you can enjoy delicious rustic specialties in a local family-run taverna before the late afternoon return at the hotel.
Note – the walk to Zeus cave is not hard and its also suitable for children.
